Ranthambore and Tigers cubs

RanthamboreNational Park pull attention of wildlife photographer in summer season. At the present time the Big Cats can be seen in near the water hole and lakes area and attract the eyes of visitors. Those traveler were lucky who traveled to zone no.07 chidi kho area and they have sighted T-08 or Ladli with two her cubs at afternoon jungle safari in Ranthambore Tiger reserve although now a day’s Ranthambore is flourishing with tiger cubs, few days back 02 cubs were sighted on zone no.02, her mother is T-39 or Noor , she is also mother of young male tiger t-72 or Sultan. As per information there are 61 tigers in ranthambore National park.

Ranthambhore is known as land of the Tiger and came in to existence as Ranthambore National park in 1980. This is very favored place for wildlife lover and wildlife photographer. There is presence of large number of royal Bengal Tiger in the forest area in Ranthambhore Tiger Reserve. It is the principle wildlife destination for tourist to find a wild tiger in their home. T-3 aka 'Bahadur'

Son of Machali from her third litter. As a young cub, Bahadur was fearless and loved chasing intruding animals from his territory. He has sired 3 cubs with T30 and has a visible stripe on his left front elbow.

T-5 aka 'Bina 1&2' 

B1 and B2 are cubs of T5 who died in 2012 leaving them orphaned, aged less than 5 months. Their survival and growth into two fine adults is a miracle of the natural world.

T-6 aka 'Romeo'

Handsome male. Son of Kachidah. Romeo has a mane which would put any lion to shame. He spends a lot of time romancing T41, Laila. He has a visable stripe on his left flank.

T-28 aka 'Star Male' 

Ruling a large part of Ranthambhore National Park, he claims the famed Lake areas as his territory. Identifying mark is an asterisk shape on his left eye.

T-8 aka 'Ladli' 

Sister of Romeo and a first time mother of two sub adult cubs. She ranges between routes 6, 7 and 8 in Ranthambhore National Park. She is a shy tiger and her mother's favourite. 

T-30 aka 'Husn Ara'

Beautiful female of Gilai Sagar area. She is a mother of three cubs sired by T3 'Bahadur'.

T-9 aka 'Mallika' 

Resident of Anantpura and Durrah area. She is a mother of two cubs sired by Chiroli male. There are two tigers named Chiroli, one male and one female.

T-31 aka 'Indu'

A large but reclusive female in her prime. She is a mother of three cubs who are over two years old. Named after the late PM Indira Gandhi, who did so much to promote wildlife conservation.

T-11 aka 'Chiroli' 

The female Chiroli is a second time mother. Chiroli female is around 8 years old and lives in the Chiroli area. She is raising three cubs sired by Chiroli male.

T-33 aka 'Hamir'

He has sired two cubs with Malika (T9) and three cubs with T11. Named after the legendary ruler of Ranthambhore who faught hard to keep his territory, as does Hamir.

T-13 aka 'Sultanpur'

A second time mother from Sultanpur moved out in 2010 to the Kundal area of Ranthambhore National Park.

T-34 aka 'Khumbha'

A large young male ranging between routes 6 and 8. Kumbha, named after the water sign Aquarius, loves water and is often found around the pools in route 6. Known to be aggressive.

T-16 aka 'Machli' 

The one and only Machli. Heart-throb of thousands of tiger lovers. Machli is the oldest and most famous wild tiger alive. A star of several films and documentaries. She has raised nine cubs.

T-37 aka 'Meera'

A young female who was often seen in the company of Fateh (T42). She tragically passed away in March 2013.

T-17 aka 'Sundari'

Dominant daughter of Machli. Sundari, the beautiful one, occupies her mother's favourite Lake area. She has three cubs sired by T28. Sundari is trying to establish her own territory.

T-39 aka 'Noor'

A first time mother with one male cub named 'Sultan', sired by Ustaad (T24). She has a rope patterned stripe on her left rear flank.

T-19 aka 'Krishna'

Sister of Sundari and T18 (who is now in Sariska park), Krishna was the first of Machli's last litter to give birth to three cubs sired by T28. She  has three stripes on her right flank that look like braids.  

T-41 aka 'Laila'

This beautiful female is being romanced by Romeo. She has four round circles on top of her stripes on the upper ridge of her right flank.

T-20 aka 'Jhumroo'

Son of Machli from her second litter. Jhumroo is a flamboyant male who dominated the Lahpur Valley until Bahadur displaced him as the Alpha Male. Now lives in Indala plateau.

T-42 aka 'Fateh'

An aggressive and fierce male. He is named after the legendary conservationist Fateh Singh Rathore. A tribute to a great man. 


T-22 aka 'Gayatri'

Senior female. So called in the memory of the late Gayatri Devi of Jaipur. Seldom spotted on safaris in Ranthambhore National Park and a very shy tiger.

T-23 aka 'Bhola'

A handsome but shy male, usually spotted between the Phuta Kat an Guda areas. Brother of the more outgoing Ustad.

T-43 aka 'Surjan'

One of the Jailkho cubs who has grown into a large sub adult on the look out for his own territory. Currently he is rarely seen but is sure to make his mark in the years to come.  

T-47 aka 'Mr Bond'

A young tiger who appeared in Ranthambhore National Park from out of the blue. Little is known about him except what has been occasionally been caught on camera. 

T-24 aka 'Ustad'

This formidable male rules a large part of Ranthambhore National Park. His large territory extends from Ranthambhore Road to the Futa Kot area. He is father of Sultan and son of Noor.

Rajiv Gandhi Regional Museum of Natural History, Ranthambore , Sawai Madhopur

The country`s fourth Rajiv Gandhi Regional Museum of Natural History, which had been inaugurated by Finance Minister Mr. Namo Narayan Meena on Saturday march 01,2014 in Ranthambhore. The Museum foundation stone was laid by the honorable Vice President of India, Hamid Ansari on December 23, 2007. It was undertaken by the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India. 

The Museum is situated at Village Ramsinghpura , Sawai Madhopur Rajasthan India. It is spread over an area in 7.2 acres of land. Village Ramsinghpura is around 9 km away from sawai Madhopur. This is the new gift for sawai madhopur. This is yet one more plume in the top of historically in Rajasthan. Regional Museum of Natural History (RMNH) was established for central region (Bhopal), Southern region (Mysore) and Eastern region (Bhubaneswar). It is designed to fourth and Regional Museum of Natural History being established in Western Region (Sawai Madhopur).  The museum is probable to open every day for public between 10 am to 5 pm except Monday and national Holidays.

Inspiring the Indian history, there are many attributes in Rajasthan under its cupola, Regional Museum of Natural history is presented as an additional heirloom to the state. The museum is believed to flourish as a very important centre for environmental education and creation of public consciousness on protection of nature and natural resources in the country. It offer an perceptive of the diversity of life on earth , the responsible elements for their well being, human being ‘s faith upon nature and the requirement to maintain our environmental inheritance free from losses and annihilation to ensure sustainable growth, with unique emphasis on the Western Arid region of India. The museum is attractively designed and purpose at creating consciousness of diverse life on earth.

There are three floor in museum, which is set to demonstrate plants , livestock , Mineral Resources and geology of the western region and western dry area of India As of now, the museum is being opened with only the ground floor, the gallery 1 on “Biodiversity of Rajasthan” or “Forests and Wildlife of Rajasthan”. The Main visitor attraction are the facsimile of Chinkara , leopard , Lion , Tiger  etc. There are village diorama of the Bishnoi community and Rajasthan rural area. There are Painting and Black pottery hall at the first floor of Museum , where anyone can enjoy live painting and pottery made by local artist.

The museum offer academic and extracurricular activities for students while depicting environmental interrelationship among plants and animals. There is a library in big hall opposite reception, where visitors allowed to reading books of wildlife of western India, Biodiversity of Rajasthan and many more. There is Auditorium in museum, where 300 people can be accommodated. This is use for seminars and wildlife documentary presentations. This museum also targets at depicting country’s natural heritage and history and attaining international recognition in the succeeding years.

Trip to Ranthambore Fort

If you are planning to visit Ranthambhore during your India Tour or Rajasthan tour, you should travel to Ranthambhore fort during your stay. The history of Sawai Madhopur revolves arround the Ranthambhore Fort, which is surrounded by Vindhyas and Aravallis, amidst vast and arid denuded tracts of Rajasthan. Ranthambhore name came from the two hills, Rann and Thambor which are in close proximately of each other. Fort lays on an isolated the Thambhore hill and 481 metres (1578 ft.) above sea level and Rann is adjoining the hill of Thambhore which covers some breathtaking views and the entire top of a hill at the heart of the Park. 



Ranthambhore Fort is approx 14 km from the Sawai Madhopur Railway station. You can hire a cab or jeep in advance to visit this majestic Fort. If you have your own car then you can take it, Private cars are allowed up to the fort Parking. If you wish to take Guide then you can take it either from the Rajasthan Tourism Office at railway station or from your hotel. If you have booked your Fort tour in advance from any travel company then you can request them to arrange a Guide for Ranthambhore Fort.



You will be drive to Ranthambhore Fort with your English speaking guide by four wheel drive maruti gypsy or your private car; you will have to pass through the main entrance gate of The National Park to the Fort. This main entrance gate located at Sherpur Tri-junction or Tiraha ( ganesh Dhaam) , a little further you will pass Misardara Gate that is first attraction of the National park , you can see on your left hand water filler with gargoyle. After crossing the first ascent you can see outline of the Ranthambhore Fort with heavy wall and bastion. Meanwhile the Fort or park drive you can watch many birds and can see wild animal such as spotted deer, sambar deer, Mongoose and monkeys. As the area surrounded by Aravali hill and cliff, you can try and have chance to see leopard upon the cliff. If you have good luck then you can spot Tiger during your drive to the Fort.

 




Ranthambhore Fort has also famous for “Ganesh Temple”. It is a very old temple inside the fort, which attracts a lot of pilgrims and visitors. Thousands of people come here from every corner of the country, and seek blessings from the Lord for happiness and prosperity. During fort drive you can see many devotees on the way. Some of them are on foot and by vehicles. Sometimes people have to face tiger on the way of Ranthambhore Fort, while other herbivores are common sight. A good day to visit the fort is Wednesday, the day of the Lord Ganesh, when a lot of local people visit the Ganesh temple. One interesting aspect is the mail that is sent to Lord Ganesha consisting mainly of wedding invitations. These letters are delivered daily by the local postman. After crossing the first ascent or Atal Sagar you will reach at Singhdwar (Portal), A Forest Check Post situated on your right hand at Singhdwar, from there all safari vehicles goes on their respective zone and few zone start from Jogi Mahal. There is another last and third ascent and then you will reach at Ranthambhore Fort.

When you will reach at Ranthambhore fort, you will see a very old and a huge Banyan tree which greets every traveler and devotees at the gate of the Ranthambhore Fort. It is believed that Banyan tree is around 500 years old. There is a another gate in front of the Fort, which use for only jungle safari, this gate is known as Jogi Mahal gate. Jogi Mahal is another attraction in Ranthambhore, The very first it was the tourist lodge but now a days it is use only for forest department and tourist is not allow but if you have any special permission from the forest department then you can visit this place. The adjoining Padam Talao pulls attention to all visitors. Another huge Banyan tree is near Jogi Mhal and it is said that is second largest Banyan tree in India. After parking your vehicle you will start your visit to 9th century old fort that is lies on isolated Thambhore hill and 481 meters (1578 feet) above from sea level. This is second largest fort in Rajasthan. The fort is spread over an area about 7 kilo meters in length and includes an area of nearly 4 square kilometers.The fort is worth a visit just for the views of the national park - it is breathtaking view from the fort. The Fort has around 200 steps climb.





The Ranthambore fort is surrounded by huge stonewalls which become stromg by towers and bastions. The entire stone for masonry work has been mined from fort area itself and mines were later change into water tank or ponds for spring water storage. There are many ruins inside the fort and remnants of the walls are mute testimony of the past. The ruined buildings inside the Fort such as Badal Mahal, Dulha Mahal,Rani tank which is front of mausoleum, Hammir court, Phansi Ghar etc. There are many shrine inside the fort which belong to many community like Hindus, Muslims, jain. During your visit to Ranthambhore Fort you will find many cenotaphs, gates, peep hole etc and 32 Pillars cenotaph is major attraction of the fort, from there a path goes to Ganesh temple. Mostly visitors see western part of the fort , very few people goes to eastern part of the fort because there is nothing more special except wild, so when you are in Ranthambhore tour you must see Ranthambhore Fort.

Ranthambore National Park


Ranthambhore National Park is one of the best Wildlife National parks in India and Famous for its wildlife excursion. Ranthambore National Park is a charming combine of the past and nature. Ranthambore National Park was recognized as the Game Sanctuary in 1955 by the Indian Government. In 1973, it was acknowledged one of the Project Tiger reserves, and in 1980 declared as Ranthambore national park. After few year in 1984, adjoining forest area of the national park were declared as sawai Mansingh Sanctuary and Kela devi Sanctuary. In 1991 the area of Tiger reserve was bloated to include the both sanctuaries. Ranthambore wildlife sanctuary is well - known for its flora and fauna and famous for tigers and is one of the best places in the world to see these royal vermin in the Forest of ranthambore. Those visitors come to ranthambore for explore wildlife they can easily spotted Tiger smoothly throughout the day time.Best time to see Ranthambore National park is  from October to June  and from july to September park remaind closed due to rainy season.
